How disappointing that a Mayor who has done a lot of heavy lifting for this city for 2 years didn't get re-elected. There has been more done in the last two years than most people realize. It will be interesting to see what a new mayor and alderman, who have zero experience in city government as well as zero experience with the improvement company will do. Unfortunately, it will be hard to know what they miss and scary to think of whose influence they're under. Thanks to Alan for many years of time and investment in WL!

The Mayor, East Ward and Municipal Judge races were fairly close. The West Ward and Prop One results were more subtantial. The new Mayor,Board and Judge will be seated next Tuesday as the business of governing the city continues.

I could be wrong but there didn't seem to be a great deal of campaigning by the incumbents. One couldn't turn a corner without being faced by a Bos sign. I think Brian Stevenson would have won if his sister wasn't already on the council. Something just didn't seem right with a brother and sister over East ward. Regardless, maybe if the incumbents had put out cheesy jar openers (but useful) like Bos did they may have had more of a chance. (ha, ha)
