So reads the headline, KC Star, 6 Sept, page B1. Details of a raw sewage spill @ Prairie Lee Lake (connected to Lake Jacomo) from a Lee's Summit pump station. "Once sewage gets into the water, there is not much you can do", Doug Thompson MO DNR.
Could it happen here? We have lift stations on the East and West sides. Is the leadership from the City and WLIC prepared for a disaster? Hope so.

Could it happen? It has happened! More than once. You've recorded it here and the last one wasn't that long ago. KC continually dumps on us in many, many ways. But...Life is good at Weatherby Lake!
Anon is right, it has happened...on multiple occasions. Each time KCMO has said "Sorry" with not much remedy to prevent it from happening again. As luck (for KCMO) would have it, regime change at the City favors lack of continuity and for some reason the Tiger @ WLIC has turned into a...well, think of "meow".
Wow, that could be bad. Let's spend a bunch of money and get prepared! It grows on trees doesn't it?
Money doesnt grow on trees read about how we can spend what we dont have

There seems to be a ho-hum gee we can't do much attitude at city hall. But life is good at WL!
Status quo is good isnt it
Lets not have any hateful defense of our interests
Life is good ice cream social anyone?
Is it really fair to say concerns about sewage spills from another city are being poo poo'd by our city?
Anon 7/14 0733 How would you handle the issue?
Take them to court and have a judge force them to comply with the law and stop putting our property at risk
Are they still dumping industrial waste from the airport on Amity?
Why isn't the WLIC management to blame here rather than the city?
They should be too..butthe WL City to KC City posturing is far too submissive and tolerant of KCMO abuse
