"Avoid Weatherby Lake state warns"

KC Star November 1st, page B3

Avoid Weatherby Lake, say environmental regulators, page B1

Another headache for the WL Chamber of Commerce not to mention home sellers in WL. According to the article our lake is "tainted" and E coli levels are at least 10 times above allowable for swimming, so says the DNR of MO. Subsequently the Women's Club cancelled their annual All Saints Fund Raising Swim at the C Point beach. No word on a reschedule. In the meantime the show must go on. JB was seen fishing on Saturday afternoon, Crappie don't read newspapers, therefore the fishing must have been good. You may want to select the "Non-Tainted" fish at the next Fishing Club Fish Fry.

Rumor has it at least one entrepreneur has approached WLIC for licensing rights for "WL E Cola", I could not verify this. I'm certain the Landmark or the Luminary will get the scoop.

Will it be a shrug of the shoulders and an "oh well, I'm sure they're sorry" at the BOA or will we figure out how to take a stand and stop KC from polluting our lake? Will the WLIC go after them after once again polluting our lake? Or will everyone poo poo the idea of protecting our property?

With the new "kinder, gentler" crowd in place, I doubt that you will see any action....but we might get new entrance monuments! Think of the legal battles you would wage with the capital they plan to raise for those things...

Thank You Neighbors for Change

I'd hate to be selling a house at WL right now, or have my boat slip in U Cove (who knows what's floating aroung those pontoons/motor, or fishing anytime in the near future. Unless you're fishing for "crappie".

Let's put our money to good use and buy a bean field to protect our lake! Oh, we've done that already. Results??

Moron

We're building a dam in the wrong place -- it should be between the pumping station and the lake.

You'd probably be surprised at how valuable the bean field is/will be. But it won't protect KC dumping raw sewage in our lake at U Cove. Every inlet needs protection from the assault this lake is taking. Be thankful we have the bean field and Peret property.

Dont waste your time trying to reason with the moron

You are right we needed the beanfield and if you dont see it by now you really are a not thinking it thru

Lets not protect the lake save that money so we can build monuments

Name-calling is a form of attack that draws a vague equivalence between a concept and a person, group or idea. By linking the person or idea being attacked to a negative symbol, the propagandist hopes that the audience will reject the person or the idea on the basis of the symbol, instead of looking at the available evidence.

You're a genius

Many fail to recognize that but you know differently

Many who believe they are genius rant endlessly attempting to prove it.

Those with common sense quietly know better!
