Every WB Lake homeowner and user needs to see this video. I knew we didn't want these mussels, but now I know why. Watch property values tank if we get them.
Have been at this lake for a long time. Seems every day there are more rules and regulations. Long gone are the care free days. In this case, the more rules and regulations - the better. Just Google zebra mussels. There is nothing, repeat nothing that successfully gets rids of them.
I understand the concern, need for education, and inspections for zebra mussels. Maybe I'm missing something . . . I don't see, in the recent proposed rules and regulations, stringent boat inspections for guests (those outside the lake) participating in sailing regattas. If we're going to get zebra mussels, seems that would be the number one way they're going to come in to our lake. And if we're dead serious, those coming in SHOULD also take the required education class. Frankly, true protection - NO OUTSIDE BOATS SHOULD BE COMING IN.
