You Need to Be Careful Who You Vote For

March 5, 2010

Hon.Gerald Bos
6604 NW Eastside Drive
Weatherby Lake, MO. 64152

Dear Mayor Bos,
On March 2, 2010 you presided over a City of Weatherby lake council meeting wherein Alderperson Tanya Finn was given the floor by you to make a highly political statement concerning the Platte County election for a Presiding Commissioner. Her inappropriate political comments were targeted to point out to the Board of Aldermen and those community members present about a political issue concerning one of the candidates in the upcoming election who is allegedly promoting the consolidation of the two Platte County Ambulance Districts into a single entity. Ms. Finn then went on to influence how the Board and audience would vote in that election by stating "You need to be careful who you vote for".

RSMo Section 105.467 prohibits a public official of a political subdivision from making public appearances or issuing press releases about a ballot measure. Further, the statute prohibits the use of public funds to advocate, support or oppose any ballot measure or candidate for public office.

Since you, Westside Aldermen DeJong, Hoy, and City Attorney John Reddoch were complicit in this action by allowing this political dialogue to continue without any procedural challenge, I draw conclusions you, the other Alderpersons and the City Attorney either were not aware of the law prohibiting such activities in a City Council forum or you and they were a co-conspirators in this inappropriate political activity.

Mis Finn is not registered as a lobbyist with the State of Missouri and it seems appropriate that if she intends to influence the voting of the Weatherby Lake Board of Alderpersons in areas outside of her elected duties, then she should appropriately register as a lobbyist with the State of Missouri.

Before I turn this issue over to the Missouri Ethics Commission and the press, I wanted to give you, the Westside Aldermen who represent me and the City Attorney an opportunity to respond to me concerning this issue and to outline how the City intends to rectify this transgression. I would expect to hear from you in writing within 10 days from the date of this letter as to your intentions to correct this matter.

Respectfully,
(signed)
E. Paul Gross

Westside Alderlady Mary Hoy Ph.D
Attorney John Reddoch, esq.

What a joke! At least Gross is consistent, goofy that is. Add more busy work for the lawyers to tally up on his behalf.

Paul Gross has always used anything he can to promote his personal agendas. He has never assigned ethical and moral behavior to himself as long as he is able to manipulate those willing to be in an elected position - WLIC and City both. Interesting what he did to this city on his own ambulance district agendas. He will try to tie this city into knots and destroy what we have until who knows when. He'd be a joke if he weren't so damaging.

Response to Anonymous':
You may very well be right about Paul Gross but if the council has broken the law, they should know about it.

In PGs mind any time you do something he doesn't like, it is against the law. I'll put money down he is in left field on this one.

I have to agree with 4-16 at 10:09am. If the elected officials broke the law THEY BROKE THE LAW. Shouldn't we hold the attorney we pay such a HEFTY fee to uphold the law accountable if he was sitting right there for know what IS and IS NOT acceptable in a meeting???
BTW -- what's with the NEW stop signs we are seeing on Eastside around ??73rd Street and park?? We are in such a CRUNCH for money seems a waste. ESPECIALLY the one coming out of the park when there is STILL a stop sign on the pole. How much were these NECESSARY signs and WHO paid???

Know that Paul Gross doesn't hold himself to the same standard he tries to intimidate others into. Common sense doesn't play into it. You have to get below the surface of what he's doing. Simple THEY BROKE THE LAW OH MY HE'S RIGHT is shallow and right where he works. Ask others who bought his story over the years and what they think of the one who saves us from ourselves. He's actually pathetic at this point.

I bet if he agreed with what was said, he wouldn't have done anything.

By the way, paying for a new stop sign is nothing compared to what PG costs us in legal fees. Be upset with that.

Someone said those street signs are costing $1,500 each. Hope I heard wrong.

I haven't seen the signs on Eastside, but I believe the other ones around the lake were put there by the Park Board. But I think that the $ comes from County grants, etc. for beautification purposes. I don't think it is money that could be directed to other city initiatives.

"You need to be careful who you vote for"

Life is good when you have your head up your ass throwing false claims about improprieties and lets not forget WMDs

You think people would learn but they still support and still vote for the same people

The stop signs you ask about were paid for by the Park Board. Where did they get the money to buy them? Your taxes. They are not just on Eastside, you need to take a drive around the lake and in particular around every park. You will find that wherever the parks are located, there are stop signs that look like the ones around 73rd and Eastside.

Before you ask, NO, the money the Park Board has to spend is NOT available to the city for the city to spend.

Elwood Paul continues to tie up this community with whatever he sees fit for his own reasons. How about if Elwood sued or tried to intimidate someone attacking WL? Has Elwood gone after KC for dumping raw sewage in our lake? (Can you say EPA EPG?) Has Elwood gone after KC for the construction practices and delays and now the "new terms" of payment to KC? Did Elwood go after Zona Rosa? Oh yeah, he tried helping them. EPG goes after people inside the lake. For any apologists, tell him to spend his time PROTECTING WL not continually trying to disrupt it.

I can understand why the man choses to endlessly dwell on minutiae.

Most of you are all guilty of ignoring the complete disregard for the rules by his neighbors ,neighbors dogs ,WLIC and now the City

Shame on you

Be careful who you vote for .Oh yes there are consequences when you go into a voting booth and cast that ballot.

Vote for the man you would most like to have over for dinner or ride with in the lead car on the 4th of July

If you are on Social Security and Medicare vote for people who promise to put an end to socialist programs.

Believe that benefits given to the rich will eventually trickle down to you.

We cut income tax and dividend taxes for the very rich and look how that trickles down

In every cloud there is a silver lining now they can afford to pay for our much needed entrance monuments.

I want a community center but I don’t want to pay for it myself . We need to pass the cost on to our children by taking it off the budget We don’t need to raise money with taxes .

Spending is good taxes are bad . Do not vote for tax and spend politicians get behind the fantasy of cut tax and spend politicians

Government is no good unless it is about what they do for me .We can always ask for donations from the private sector. Hell I want it as long as someone else is paying for it

Remember ,that you believed that “deficits don’t matter”

Google that line and read how we got where we are today

Be careful who you vote for

6:16....Seriously? I'm all for checks and balances, but "minutiae" is very effectively addressed by a little neighborly discussion -- not constant litigious threats which result in additional monetary waste. He's become a such a laughing stock.

5:22 PM said it best. Stop worrying so much about a little bit of poop in your yard, and start worrying about the poop in your lake by KC. That's the Sh*t that really matters!

to 8:44 - well said!

PG have neighborly discussion? Who's left that would want to? I think that's why he just sues or calls the police. He's the Weatherby Lake Enforcer! I wonder what he'd do if Merlin lived next to him and walked his dogs without a leash by his house and sped by in his cars? That's one of his only friends left. What to do....

I'm glad the Park Board paid for the signs and NOT the city. HOWEVER the park board also says how they are short and can't fund this and that, then why not use that stop sign money for equipment at the parks? For a walking/bike trail somewhere off Eastside. Save it for when tennis courts or basketball courts need to be resurfaced. Or put in a new play ground somewhere. Maybe do something for the kids of the community like other cities around us do. Have a carnival or an Easter Egg Hunt like they used to do. BUT stop signs where the ones in use were working FINE seems like a JOKE.
Mike isn't your wife the PRESIDENT of the Park Board??? Couldn't you tell us the amount wasted on these signs?
