If you are in need of a little intellectual diversion, you may want to consider attending tomorrow night (7PM). At least two topics stand out:
- Golf carts on City streets
- A looming gigundo water and grinder fee increase
A very small band of folks is determined to get golf carts on City streets. Forget that the council labored over this issue many meetings last year and decided no go, the issue is in front of them again. Some times we are just too polite. A simple "NO" will do.
The erratic management of water rates continues under the guidance (?) of the Mayor. No, KCMO has not increased rates, that is usually in the spring. One of the reasons given is declining water usage. Wait until you see the new rates, you might consider paving that front yard instead of watering it next year...really.
If you can't make the meeting you can always pick up the phone and call your aldermen and mayor, I feel sure they would love to hear from you.
