Soon to be former Mayor Jerry Bos has listed his WL manse for $1.2 million, 6 bedrooms, 6 baths. Make an offer. The listing indicates taxes at $15,000, I assume it includes the most recent round of appraisals last year.

Please let Jerry know you saw this mention on the blog. If you purchase his home I will share the finders fee I feel confident he will provide to me if his home is sold.

Nice view of the lake, too many toilets for me.
When you are an ex corporate executive, you need lots of bathrooms!
life is great at weatherby lake
I say good riddence.
ALL Governance in Weatherby Lake are a joke. The blind leading the blind, cronies in control of it all. From the BOA to the mayor... from the city to the WLIC. The future of this city and its lake seem bleak. Heck the last (4) WLIC board members are appointees & were not even elected, unless you consider two member plants motioning and seconding their appointments out of sync with the printed agenda during the last annual meeting seeing as how they are technically voters I guess they were elected. oh, & what % of voters turned out for the mayoral election this time? Same deal. I vote, therefore I complain.
Well said 927.....this is what you get when Medill is running the show and the community right into the ground.
We have a volunteer governing structure at Weatherby Lake. I’m not saying you’re right or wrong 5:05, 9:27, 11:18. But if you all don’t like the people in place what’s your solution to changing it. Appears to me, it is what it is. At the very least give the new mayor a chance. Even WLIC seems to be running under the radar with no controversies.
Depends on what you call a volunteer. All the aldermen, mayor and city staff are paid. WLIC has paid staff (1.5 headcount ?). Just because someone volunteers doesn't make them not accountable for what they do or do not do. This isn't a blast at volunteers, many do great work on our behalf. It shouldn't make them immune to criticism when they do bonehead stuff, and there has been some of that.
If you look at $100/$500 a month as ample compensation, then yes, it’s not a volunteer position.
“ALL Governance in Weatherby Lake are a joke” - “This isn't a blast at volunteers”
Looks like a blast at volunteers to me.
You get what you pay for
There is one thing some volunteers do end up with which can be far more gratifying than compensation – Power. Power to control or dictate to others what they can or cannot do. More often than not, they are there by non-elected means.
Have seen some of these individuals truly abuse their positions and yet praised and exalted by some of our “governing” officials. There were two Sherman Awards that were downright abominations.
