A little late today I know...but something to entertain my West Side colleagues and, if you play nice, you East Siders as well.
Now that Pat Botbyl has won the Mayoral Race, he and the BOA need to find a replacement for his West alderman spot. What to do? Why not help out? Know anybody who could fill his shoes (I do not know what size)? Just nominate your choice(s) and maybe even why...just insert in Comments.

I nominate Pat Medill. She is such an asset to our community. Her intense knowledge of everything would be a great perspective on the City Council. She would make great decisions for the West Side.
I nominate you Mike.
9:31, Thanks but no thanks. Recently started a new job with travel (I have been averaging 100K plus air travel the last few years). The aldermen (and Mayor) need to be available...of which I have no guarantee.
but I can nominate someone, Kathy Birmingham. Nobody comes close to attending city meetings (other than department heads) than Kathy, and this stretches way beyond the last ten years. She has seen the good, the bad...well all of it. She has been involved in the community and I think well respected. She comes to the meetings anyway, so why not in one of the West Side seats...at least for the next year?
Mike - do you have any idea what the name of the older lady was who was chasing people who were trying to vote last week? She was wanting me to vote for Botbly and said if York was elected he would close the Community Building. Who do I call to complain about this behavior? Anybody else feel like I do?
1:24 you have put me in a tight spot, what do you mean by "older lady"? (It is a relative term, the range being 30 years to 10). That being said when I voted only Pauli Kendrick was outside (she is shall we say a "mature" woman) and she was calling out Boon Lee's name. No harassment felt. However, a voter can report a problem to one of the election judges inside the poll or complain to the Platte County Election Board. It is my understanding that indeed complaints were made this past election day.
Oops, above should read (30 to 100)464
Kathy Birmingham is an excellent nomination.
