I know many people did not care for Rick Noble but if he were in charge, there would be silt fences everywhere - protecting our most valuable asset!!!

I thought we owned the bean field??? SO then what is this work being done there?

I've been around a long time and I can honestly say Rick NOble did a lot a good for us. I can also say he did a lota damage. From my observation we have a good board in place. A good group of people who volunteer a heck ofa lot of their own personal time to take care of this lake for us. Show a little gratitude. You see a fence down - call the folks at the WLIC office or stop by and let them know. They can't be everywhere all the time.

Jan 16 12:36..............(I believe) Where the dirt has been placed is the easement for Kansas City and the improvement of the Amity/Barry crossroads. We do own the bean-field, but there's always an easement.

I will take the action item to contact WLIC Stream Team re: silt fencing.

Does a board member know, the day
and time that the walk bridge will
be moved? A couple of school kids
would like to watch.

Here is the point of the pic...the dirt has been there for a week, the excavation for the new Amity extension, weeks. Crest of Barry Road digging east of East side Drive, weeks. Further east excavation, weeks. I know WLIC (and City officials) cannot be everywhere but surely you (and them) have to wonder as you drive down Amity or Barry..."I wonder when they are going to use some erosion control?" "I wonder when the snow melts where the runoff is going to go?" Maybe someone from the City or WLIC has asked them to "pretty please" contain the silt. If that is the case...it's not working. Either way, this is a forerunner of a series of mudslides coming down Barry and...well, you know the rest.

We do have a good board in place and they continue to be hindered by the same people

I don’t remember all the things Rick Noble did but here are some…

Purchased Peret Property

Got damages from Zona Rosa to build dam that’s finally being erected

Got millions in damages from those who damaged our lake and yes unfortunately it was costly to fight unlawful disregard for our property.

Monitored and engaged developers in our watershed and tried to enforce silt control obligations.

We have lost our ability to hold people accountable and that came from within. We now sue ourselves and get nothing instead of preventing and as a last resort recovering damages from harm done to WL

Helped facilitate a land swap to relocate Sonic Bank and Goodyear Tire on Barry and Congress vs. at corner of Amity and Barry as originally planned.

Worked with MO Dept Conservation to get rid if Geese despite fierce opposition and threats from within

Enforced safety rules and no -wake zones. We have a big lawsuit waiting to happen here

Unapologetically stood up to people from outside who damaged our lake

Unapologetically stood up to members and uninformed followers whose actions were , and continue to be detrimental to our Lake.

Most of those who don’t appreciate what he did are the same people that wont admit the mistake of being duped and foolishly getting behind the people who distorted the truth and the facts and conspired with developers that have harmed our Lake.

I talk to many who know they cant thank Rick enough for what he did .

That makes me happy but there are still those who will never get it

I agree Rick Noble did all that you mentioned, and for that everyone here at the lake should be grateful. But you are sadly misinformed if you think the current board is not effective. You are also sadly misinformed if you are not aware of the damages Mr. Noble caused by his brass, rude and disrespectful treatment of people. Go to the WLIC meetings and ask what is being done. Don't assume that just because we aren't spending hundreds of thousands in atty fees that nothing is being done. That;s irresponsible.

I think I started out my comment above yours with "we have a good board in place "

They are doing many good things.

I dont think Safety rules and Regulations are being enforced.

I also pointed out they are hindered as prior boards have been hindered by what I would hope is a small and shrinking minority of members.

We are spending time and money because some of our members continually oppose every board we have had.

Because of some unelected members who do not run for election becuase they are unelectable dont think the board is doing the right things our elected board cannot progress even if the majority of the membership approved by vote.

Someone else brought up Rick Noble and his "rudeness" but I say thats about all anyone can say he did wrong.

I attended many meetings when I observed equally unpolite or disrespectful behavior between the same small group of people who continually raised the same issues.

Looking back I say Rick got it right on what needed to be done to protect the lake and the current board I am happy to see understands that.

He got it right on the people who for whatever reason or personal agenda where trying to stop him from protecting the lake

Those are the people you should complain to when you see
"a picture is worth a thousand words" .
They succeded in making WLIC impotent and unable to enforce siltation issues in our watershed

The City and they WLIC appear to be powerless and irreleveant in any and all matters and issues that we face

I also agree with all you have stated. Paul Gross is still out there trying to destroy our community but at least the current board has him on a short leash and he is not destroying everything like he was. He also isnt in the city office trying to influence the mayor either like he used to do several mayors ago. But I don't agree that "our city and wlic board are powerless and irrelevant in any and all matters and issues that we face." Thats a very strong statement and I think your wrong. That comment shows that you are sadly misinformed. If you really feel that way, then like everyone else says, start going to the meetings and ask questions and find out first hand what is being done or not. I think you would be surprised.

The proof is in the puddin (going in the lake)

Are you not looking at the same picture I am ?

Dont you notice lately we seem to be doing alot of asking but getting little

I dont blame that on our elected officials .

I blame it on our activists.

Anonymous said...

i honestly don't know what you are referring to. Asking who? And what are we not getting? And now you're going to start condeming our activists? Make that our VOLUNTEER activists? Wow. Pretty low.

Anonymous said...

The only thing low is your IQ

I did not condemm volunteers

I condemned "activists" who have not been elected to represent us in any way

We have elections to decide who will represent our community.

The most recent example the bridge and well intentioned people forced KCMO to close the bridge

As I said we are doing alot of asking but its out of our hands

Hurry up and wait for a new bridge
