Parks Tax Passes
In a vote that was closer than anticipated, the 1/2 cent sales tax question passed in Platte County, 54% for, 46% against. The tax will expire in 10 years. 4,940 ballots were cast or just 8% of the registered 61,231 in the county. Hopefully the City and the Park Board will continue to be aggressive in pursuing the relatively small amount available every year for Parks and storm water grants.

I have been hit real hard by this economy. I voted against the sales tax because I can barely make ends meet. I see no end in sight. I guess the majority out there have money to spend.
I am hurting too and I did not vote for it
I also did not vote for the man who destroyed the economy with an unnecessary war , income tax cuts and dividend tax cuts for rich.
Obviously there are a lot of people out there under the delusion parks take priority over employment, housing market, and lost savings.
Many others see wasting lives and money to "spread democracy " more palatable
Gotta love Democrats! At what point is the 'annointed one' going to take ownership of anything...much less the economy. After all, it was Barney Frank and his band of cronies that pushed the economy over the cliff....

Why dont you name one bill that Barney got passed while in the minority during the last eight years

I am on medicare and Social security and by the way I am getting so much more than I ever paid for but no way do I want to go under a government socialist program or redistribution of wealth
