President Resigns, VP Takes Over

The Official Unofficial Minutes of the WL BOA
Sept 6

No, not The President, the WL Park Board President.
Mayor Bos announced Park Board President Lisa Moratz, after eleven years of service, submitted her resignation  Vice-President Heather Shafe will assume the role of President  With only one high schooler left in the house, Lisa wants to devote her volunteer efforts at Park Hill High School where she recently assumed the Vice-President position with the Band Backers.

(Ms Moratz feels the parks in the city continue to improve and she believes the 10 year plan recently adopted will insure their continued care and attention).

Alderman Finn thought it would be a good idea for the BOA to send a "thank you" note to Ms Moratz to recognize her service to the City.  Jerry said there was no need, he had already sent an email to Lisa.

Really.  Eleven years of service to the community as a volunteer gets you a couple of lines from the Mayor in an email.  Now that is class.

I agree Mike. That is real class on the part of the mayor, as in positively NO CLASS. What a Jackass!

Ditto above comment. Put Hoy in same class! Her monthly update had no words of thanks either, just a mention the spot needed to be filled.

On behalf of the rest of the community....Thank you Lisa for your dedication and gift to our community.

If you are a volunteer seeking someone to Thank You, maybe you should reconsider your motives

There is such a thing as common courtesy. I would expect Lisa didn't take the job anticipating a thank you. If someone drops their keys in line at walmart you pick them up and give them to the person, he/she says thank you. Would it be too difficult to send a note from the boa thanking her for 11 years of monthly meetings and more? Bad form.

Lisa: Thank you for eleven years of dedicated service. The many hours you devoted for the betterment of the Weatherby Lake Community has been much appreciated. We wish you the best in your future endeavors as you continue to serve the young men and women of our community through your work with the Park Hill Band Backers!
