Tom Henke provided an update from WLIC.

• The Dam passed the DNR inspection in July
• The lake will be lowered 4 to 5 feet, beginning in September to accommodate C Point construction.

The construction schedule will be finalized at the August 16th Board meeting.  Phase 1 begins with seawall construction at the very point, a new gazebo and an increase in level of the land to the restrooms.  Tom mentioned the improvements to C Point are being made without the need for a special assessment.

Smithville Lake has zebra mussels which has renewed interest in protecting the Lake.  Port of entry does not just include boats coming from other lakes, but also runoff from contaminated boats being washed up stream. A big challenge.
