Anybody feel like me? Received the mailing from WLIC, a copy of the URGENT email, a color pic of the Point and gazebo and Call for Directors. I was sure there would be a more detailed blurb on the C Point renovation, cost of the project and where the money for the project was coming. Nope. Maybe it is in the mail.
Last May I talked with President Joe (at City Hall) regarding siltation and sewage concerns for the Lake. I thought a communication to the membership was overdue. He told me he was getting it together, it would be out soon. Maybe it is in the mail.
I know for some of you just the criticism of the WLIC Board will raise your hackles. Usually the first response is "after all, they're just volunteers" #1, I appreciate all that they do. #2, that being said, by any measure, this is the least communicative Board we have had, in my memory. Would a quarterly update be too much? #3 I know they have monthly meetings, I believe I have gone to one this year. All the info one needs to know. What if you can't go...or don't want to go...too bad? The Mayor has his chatty spot in the WLL, Mary has her monthly BOA summary, the City publishes its minutes on the website. WLIC? Not so much.

Fact is everything the WLIC has and is doing was already put in motion over 10 years ago
Appreciate the service but I lost faith in the appeasers a long time ago
New ambitious talent wont volunteer and try and get something worthwhile done with large numbers of village idiots here who dont want anything done and stand opposed to anything and everything.
Seems to me the WLIC was sadly made and remains impotent.
Sad they wont even take a stand and enforce the no wake zone for fear of upsetting a member that gives boat keys to to irresponsible friends and relatives
I am astounded by the numbers of people who run full speed thru coves 4 feet from a dock with people in the water

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard from that guy manning the WLIC post – he’s a neighbor, a volunteer and an accountant. He’s made it clear he’s there to help but also made very clear don’t get on his wrong side. I guess we’re suppose to kowtow because he’s a “neighbor” or “neighbor" is some kind of power bargaining chip or be grateful because he’s a neighbor. Who knows. Completely looses sight of the fact neighbor is a two way street for respect.
We have said many times in our household – you get people in these “volunteer” positions and what it becomes is a power trip. Some of these people have mundane low level lives. It’s a way of creating a position of importance they can’t get any where else. And they do like to flaunt it.
There was this one idiot on such a power trip it was beyond belief.
Listened to the triad of trumped up violations which
-were not in the rules and regulations,
-we already had grandfather rights to
-was waived years go and documented
But some how this newly positioned volunteer was bound and determined he was in power and we were going to fall to our knees in submission.
The problem is some of these committee heads and volunteers are not voted in so they are allowed to run rapid.
We are tired when these power trip individuals don’t return phone calls, place this self assigned importance on themselves, and completely obliterate the purpose of their position.
All it does is diminished the hard working volunteers who are there to do good.
