August 5th will be the inauguration of the new trash/recycling service in WL, it was announced during the BOA meeting. A letter will be sent to residents outlining the specifics soon. Positives will be curbside recycling and not needing to make the trek to the CC or City Hall. On the negative side, if you are a conspicuous consumer or a larger family, the one bin for garbage, one bin for recycling might not fit your lifestyle or budget (you can always get another bin at an additional cost). Meanwhile our pals to the south in Parkville have had a row over city-wide mandatory recycling. Residents there have their choice of trash haulers and the four companies that serve the city have balked at mandatory recycling, citing increased cost of equipment.
