More than a few folks are pissed about the trash deal.

My garbage stinks! Trying the new bin, kind of a bummer. I used to have a trash liner for my rubbermaid which kept the smell down, where do you get a 95 gal liner?

Trash guy just left...evidently, Allied is operating by the "new rules" as the guy left everything that was not in the big blue bin. Typical.

my advice to 7:29
the mayor and aldermen engineered this mess on your behalf, so call them with the complaint, not Allied, not city hall.

Have requested an additional 95gal bin from Allied Waste. Cost is $10.00 a quarter ($3.33/mo.) Even with the additional bin, seems to work out cheaper than what we were paying before - unless I'm missing something.

FYI: The trash guy took all our "extras" outside the blue bin.

You have to call to get your recycling bin.

Positives on the new trash agreement:

- the 95 gallon bin is HUGH – equals two containers many people are using around the lake
- the trash truck is going to pick it up so putting heavy items in the bin is not so much an issue
- overall cost per household is cheaper
- only $3.33 more per month for an additional 95 bin
- only $2.00 per month for two recycle bins (can fits loads of stuff in these two bins
- city gets a monetary kick back on recycling
- yard waste remains the same
- closed lid keeps the smell in
- trash day isn’t going to look so tacky with everyone’s bits and pieces out
(Okay, I’m sure most people don’t care about this)

Yes, our household will miss the ability to “dump” anything and everything out there on trash day. However, these containers look to handle almost everything so shouldn’t be an issue.

I don't think you get 2 bins for recycling, nonetheless I am happy to recycle.

Read the letter from Allied Waste as meaning $2.00 for one or two bins:

"We will be offering curbside single-stream recycling with a 65 gallon recycle cart.
**If a resident wants an extra cart for recycling, it will be supplied at no charge."
