"The Dredge is COMING!!!

You may have received your Dredge letter in the past few days from WLIC, we got ours on Friday...just in case you did not, a summary:

  • Dredging will begin, weather permitting, the first two weeks of March
  • Completion targeted NLT May 31st
  • North Cove, U/C/G/O/A2 coves are scheduled for dredging
  • Most of the silt will be placed @ Amity/Barry (bean field), the remainder below the dam
  • Lake front owners have the opportunity to hire Dredge America if the area in front of their home is not being dredged
  • The WLIC Dredge Fund is being used to pay for the operation

Was there something passed requiring lake front property owners to pay for any dredging in front of their lake side property? If so, how far out into the lake are first tier responsible for? When did WLIC shift this financial responsiblity to first tier. Why are there rules and regulations for repairing/replacing docks and yet some lake front aren't required to have a sea wall. Did you know that if one has a questionable board on their dock they MUST replace the board or the wrath of WLIC will come down on them but if a sea wall looks like an earthquake hit it there is no regulation they must repair it. Did you know one must have a certain width walkway for safety purposes but if someone falls off a badly decomposed sea wall, there's no regulation out there.

oh dear, an Obama apologist is offended by the cartoons. It is called technically a widget which feeds from the IBD site. I've had it on the blog, maybe two years. If you click on the toon it takes you to the IBD site, and if you click on HOME you will see it has a trove of business info, sans political statements.

@5:03 - Since I was a little kid, I have always been taught that here in the Republic of Missouri, if you don't like it, you can always close the book or change the channel or walk away from the meeting...or close the browser window.
