The Official Unofficial Minutes of the WL BOA3-3 Meeting
Jerry unveiled his "
Five Year Road Plan" for the City, guess he should have named it the
Six Year Road Plan because it took
one year to plan. After taking the year off to await the final, the BOA approved the plan with the
RFP going out shortly.
The 2009 proposed paving plan:
- Davis Court
- Pleasant Ford
- Venita South
- Wayland Circle
- Whipple Lane
- 73rd Street
- 74th Street
- 76th Street
- City Hall Lot
- Selected Patching
- Projected Cost=$350,000
2010 proposed paving plan
- McDonald
- Quincy Court
- Roberts North
- Weatherby Drive
- 72nd Street
- 72nd Terr
- 78th St
- Selected Patching
- Projected Cost=$263,000
When questioned about a funding plan for the road plan Jerry responded there was "plenty of money". When pushed for particulars he indicated funding is available for 09,10 and some of 11 from the
Road Bond funds and money from
Platte County Road Tax. From 2011 and the rest of the five year plan funding is uncertain. There are currently no plans to provide for the purchase of equipment for the
Street Department during the five year period. The eventual paving of East Side Drive looms as well. Somewhat of a mystery is why the City did no crack sealing from Spring on last year, although a sealer had been purchased. It is hard to understand especially with
Vic's engineering background and facility management expertise.
Vic has been designated as having oversight
responsibility for
Public Works. Go figure.
George is going to monitor the
Parkville Special Road District and their bids to insure we are getting the best deal on our bids. Pray the price of asphalt stays low, we need all the help we can get.
