A Sly Win

I haven't seen the exact numbers but the KC Star reported newly elected Mayor Sly James did "poorly" (I believe it was better than 2 to 1 in favor of Burke) in the Northland.  When asked about this he said "The extent that we constantly re-emphasize our differences, then we are simply embedding that difference in the minds of the people in this city".  There was a wisecrack during the campaign that the only time Sly made it north of the river was on his way to the airport.  Time of course will tell.  Bless the man, he is inheriting a mind boggling pile of problems.

In regards to WL, it will be status quo.  The bureaucracy of KCMO is alive and well, ask Joe and Jerry.  Examples include Peret, Barry Road,  Dredging to the Bean Field, Water Department and Lift Stations.  KCMO will do what they want, when they want to and how.
