No News Is...

The Official Unofficial Minutes if the WL BOA
October 4

Entrance Advisory Group Committee Report
Last BOA Alderman Finn requested an update from the EAGC, Mayor Bos said he would have Jim Miller come to the BOA this month and deliver an update.  Seems Mr Miller was on his way back from WI and was unable to be present, so Hizzoner filled in for the update
"Very little continues to be done"
"Hard to say" (when there will be something to report)
"Discussions of monuments for Eastside, Hillside and Forest"
"It will be a little while" (I believe Jerry was alluding to more news)

So there you have it, any questions?

Yes .. Question is .. how many still believe we should let Warren Buffett's tax rate be voluntary too?

This concept of government asking for donations works well.

The EAG has run out of steam, it seems. They should redraw their plans to be more realistic. Three streets on Barry are now done. That would be the place to start.

All they had to do from the get-go was take the $50,000 from KC, build a decent sign and be done with it. Problem is we no longer have the full $50,000.

Doesn't the BOA have the right to demand a date for an official update? Can't they tell the committee "we want to know X" or "we want to know the plans for the Barry Road corridor by such and such a date?". Jerry better be prepared for a backlash pretty soon. This has gone on for far too long. That Nov '09 is the last published minutes on the website is unacceptable.

What is wrong with everyone? We have a perfectly good sign on Eastside and Barry now - the tacky green and white Weatherby Lake road sign nailed to a pole. Hmmmm . . . what do you want to bet it’s going to be there for a very long time.

Alternatively . . . we could have volunteers panhandle in front of it for contributions to the sign fund.

How long has this been going on? 11:27, it is obvious the sign state of affairs is at a stand still. Mayor completely misread our community, KC funds were misappropriated, committee has no direction nor knows what to do. This is where our community elected leaders need to step in, get off the grandiose pedestal, suck it up, access the damage, and put a reasonable sign in its place. Move on.

11:27 completely agrees.
