Entrance Donation Campaign Kicks Off

The Entrance Advisory Group Committee, an official advisory committee of the City of Weatherby Lake, has begun the drive to raise money for the entrance monumnts. The co-chairs for fund raising, Joyce McInerney and Tony White, have approached members of the committee to start the effort with their contributions. Makes sense that the committee would lead the way on this one. Jim Miller, spokesman for the EAG, mentioned the goal to begin work on the Eastside/City Hall monument by the end of the year ($150,000 to $170,000). An aggressive goal but one it seems the EAG is confident can be met. If you are not on the EAG I'm sure Joyce or Tony would be happy to accept your contribution. Give them a call.

If people are so EAGER to waste money, how about give it to the WLIC so they will stop charging the rest of us for items (or land outside the city) that they keep purchasing. In this economy even $20,000 for a monument for our city seems very RIDICULOUS! Come on people lets stop wasting money on NON essential items around here.

$150,000 to $170,000 for some useless monuments. That's chickenfeed! Where do we sign up?

Yeah, maybe we could buy some more useless land while were at it?

This underscores the need for everyone to urge the WLIC to communicate more by newsletter or mail

The Pabulum spoon feeding required segment of the membership will always be opposed but the WLIC should keep the rest of us informed.

I notice there is a for sale sign on the Peret property and I can see the new Dam

I am pleased with the effort to proactively deal with the threats posed by the rapidly changing surrounding environment.

Buying land to protect our lake is not optional or discretionary in my view We cant wait for better days I support the better safe than sorry approach

I would like a little more news and know I should attend the WLIC meetings but I wont go anymore because a lot of the village idiots and activists dominate and waste everyone’s time with nonsensical tirades and agendas

When the Peret project is done those same obstructionists that were in the vocal minority and opposed it will not admit that they were wrong

I do agree we don’t need the monuments and also think this donation trend is nonsense.

This is a city. Did we ask for donations top build the water tower? It just lets the tightwads off the hook who want someone else to pay for their share

I wont donate for that reason

When the WLIC sells part of the Peret property, what will they do with the money? We all paid an assessment for the land -- will we get a refund?
