"Neglect By The Owners of Vacant Lots"

A letter by resident Bud Flaherty was in the packets for the last BOA and discussed for some time.  He attached two pages of pictures of his concerns taken during "a short trip in my neighborhood".  He points out the "increase in the number of boats, trailers and other items home owners are parking in various states of condition and length of time in their driveways, yards and on vacant lots."  Bud believes it is a cause of "devaluation to our homes and community".

Correct me if we are wrong. We thought this was a lake community.
The man needs to find something to do besides driving around taking pictures our of his car window.

Just stupid. Agree this is a lake community. Those boats are neatly covered, not rotting away and abandoned. Wooded lots an eyesore? Ridiculous! Is this guy for real?

This guy took all the wrong pictures. Those look like well-maintained boats. He needs to come to our neighborhood. If he had taken pictures of a neighbor down the street with trash slowly building up all around their house . . . with a neatly covered boat sitting up front in the middle of their trash, then he would have something to complain about. Or another neighbor with a boat, which has been sitting there for years on the side of his house, also in the middle of his trash. Or another resident with three different colored tarps covering their boat. Or the empty lot which one of these people use to use as dumping grounds for his boats. (Looks like someone finally did something about that.) . . . then maybe this guy would have a point.

Sorry, Bud, not all of us have the wherewithall to live in your lakeside monster and pay for professional upkeep. As far as covered boats sitting on our property....the city screwed that up when they got greedy and tripled the storage lot fees. The lot appears to be about 1/3 full now, so in typical politician fashion, they didn't gain any real revenue....just moved a lot of boats out into the neighborhood.

Was telling picture taker to chill but you need to chill too

Like Rick Santorum you are angry at everybody with subtle undertones of "they" 'them" the government are at the root of all evil and greed
See article where all of "them" ran uncontested
