Happy Veterans Day

Saluting all men and women who have served and are serving our country.

One of my dad's favorite quotes from "Patton"
" Now, there's one thing that you men will be able to say when you get back home. And you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now when you’re sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you: What did you do in the great World War II? You won't have to say, Well, I shoveled shit in Louisiana. "
Ken Moratz, WWII South Pacific combat veteran

The City of WL version of celebration is to schedule a BOA "budget work session" at 9AM today. I guess working vets will have to figure out how to cram another event into Outlook.

Happy Veterans Day! This is off subject a little but..

Have been doing some research. It is amazing what you can find online. Maybe Mike would want to do a seperate post on this.

Here is a link to the original treaty (Part of the Platte Purchase) that purchased the land our lake and homes are on from the Ioway Indians. Purchase Price was $7500.00 Gold + a bunch of other stuff. It lists everything in the treaty. Check out the awesome names signed at the end.

Drawn up by Clark of Lewis and Clark.

You should be able to go up to the courthouse and trace your current deed all the way back to that treaty.
