Ed Ford coming to town

Lisa Minardi, aide to KCMO Councilman Ed Ford indicates Mr Ford has requested to be added to the BOA Agenda for October 7th. If this is confirmed I urge you to make your reservations for seats now, this one will be SRO. It is my understanding he will request a WL fund be established so WL citizens can make donations to the "UCanFordaBridge Foundation" to pay for the WL fair share of the new construction of the BRB bridge.

BTW, see the comment on the BRB blog regarding specs for construction of our piece of the Barry Road project...we will build no bridge before its time!

Will the amount we have to pay to get out the silt they'll dump in our lake during construction count?

Good question. My guess the multi-million dollar settlement we get as part of litigation regarding siltation will leave us on the plus side.

You've got to be joking!!!! Pay our fair share???? I think I've been paying my 1% share every year for the past 20 years! I'd like to finally see some benefit back from that!

If i "donate" any hard earned cash, it's going to be toward lake efforts to monitor our lake conditions once the mud-fest ensues!

BTW....wasn't the bridge already part of the funding for the Barry Road expansion project? Why now are we expected to pay for it when they're the ones that have stalled the process in the first place.

Just to be clear...the info about Ford coming did come from his aide, the rest was my parody of his previous statements about Weatherby Lakeans paying our fair share. The part about the fund was a little jab at those who believe the way to cure ills in the City is to have a fund raiser.

"Weatherby Lakeans"? or "Weatherby Lakers"? Should we take a formal poll?

I want to be clear on what i am!

As you wish, we can take a poll, but why limit the choices...we should take a poll on names, I can add another..."Weatherbeans (not pronounced beans but beeuuns). To me, Lakers could be mistaken for a basket ball team...but then again we have a good start with Scott W as the captain.
