Prying Eyes

Sunday's Star, Section B, page 4 - Neighborhood Cameras

A subdivision in Wentzville, MO is marketing homes with surveillance cameras. Interesting idea. I have been a proponent of the City posting surveillance cameras at the CC/Tennis Courts, City Hall, and the Public Works garage. They could be monitored by police/city employees/city officials via internet. As you already know, the WLIC uses cameras on C point. The Barry Road Bridge closing makes it more difficult for coverage/surveillance of the City. Why not let technology help? Should this be a 2009 budget item? What do you think?

I was not aware there were cameras at CPoint. Do we know where. If so I am wondering why it is that residents are allowed to bring dogs down that defecate and urinate at the beach and in the grass. Then not clean it up yet nothing is ever done about it. Which is obvious by the fact that they keep doing it. How about aim the cameras at them and lets fine them $500 for littering!!

There I believe is a camera at the point on top of the building. With this in mind it is surprising that trespassers make it onto the lake with out being caught. It would seem the cameras would catch the license of every car or truck putting a boat in.
